Health Book Reflection

This term, I learned about cyber-safety and how to act online to ensure other people are safe and respected. We had 4 things that corresponded on how to be safe online. These 4 things were empathy, critical thinking, respect and responsibility.

Empathy:

Empathy is being able to feel how others are feeling in different situations. You are metaphorically able to walk in their shoes. I have shown empathy in many occasions before when I have messaged others online to tell them that I know how they feel and that they are not alone.

Critical thinking:

Critical thinking is being able to think about what will happen due to our actions and behaviour. When we do something there will always be a consequence, no matter how long it takes for the consequence to happen. One time I was going to say something hurtful to someone, but then I knew that it would escalate and I would get into trouble, so I didn’t.

Respect:

Respect is making sure that you are not hurting someone by insulting them or their opinion by being polite in your response. You can respectfully agree or disagree. I tend to do this in many situations and people do it to me too.

Responsibility:

Being responsible means being safe, helping others and being courageous. Doing this would be helpful for yourself and the others around. I have been responsible online before because I have not shared personal information, and I have stood up for others too.

This is everything that I have learned in Health this term. I found it enjoyable and interesting too!
