About Me

My name is David Duff and I am a student at All Saints’ College in the final years at school. My favourite subjects are maths and science which I perform very well in. I also love media. In media I enjoy creating short explainer videos. Some of these videos have included my Excel at Excel Series as well as my latest Cracking Cryptography series. Last year in a group with Royce and James I created a End of Transition video all about InnovatED, a program aimed to develop our Entrepreneurship Skills.

Last year in media I also created 2 documentaries. The larger of which was a documentary about water which involved interviews with various professors, and another one which was about the positives and negatives of social media. I worked on these documentaries within a group of 3 people which also included Fraser and Smith.

The cello is by far my favourite instrument and I play it in the Western Australian Youth Orchestra, Amati Strings and Guarneri Ensembles. I have been a part of Amati Strings since Grade 7 and recently joined Guarneri and look forward to the opportunities that this new ensemble will bring.

I enjoy working behind the scenes for many college productions including stage crewing for the Mamma Mia production as well as the Crescendo Dance Concert, Unite Dance Concert, and Rise Dance Concert where I was the Head of Stage Crew Right. I have also assisted in the live streaming of the swimming carnival and I look forward to participating in even more in the future.

More recently I was also the Stage Manager for the College’s Addams Family Musical production, this was a very fun experience, however it also required a lot of time to ensure that I did my job to the highest standard that I could do it to. However if an opportunity to assist in this way comes back I will definitely take any opportunity.

I am a very respectful student who always strives to demonstrate integrity, even when it may not be beneficial for me. I am always able to state my opinions clearly. This can be seen through my participation in interhouse debates and mock trials. Last year I was recently chosen as the most valuable participant in semester 1 for interhouse debating.

I love to lead and assist people and an example of this is my participation in the Amana Advocates program, which assists mature aged people to better use their technology. Another way through which I have led people is through being an Arts Councillor. In this role I have continued to spread interest about and for the arts. Next year I will be a member of the Catalyst Leadership Team, continuing my service work at the school.
