Kalbarri camp (2020)

One experience i do remember from the camp was when we did an explore through the gorge at 4-ways. It was once we had woken up and prepared breakfast, that Vicky (one of the camp leaders) asked us which part of the gorge we wanted to explore. Most of us wanted to venture further down the river, so that is what we did. I put my hat and sunnies on, and we started waking. The first obstacle was crossing the river to the other side. Most of the rocks in the river were slimy and covered in algae, so they were hard to stand on. I had my water-resistant shoes on, but one got submerged so it became squelchy. I was one of the last people to cross, and we did a following the leader approach. I was a bit slow, due to the algae, but Keira waited for me until i got to the other side. Once we all got there, we started walking. I believe we walked for a solid 30 mins to an hour before we hit an obstacle. There were no more rocks to walk on. And the only way to cross was to wade through the water while holding onto the rocks above. Most people started heading back to camp from there, but I was one of the people that took on the challenge so i started to wade through the freezing water. The person behind me was James, and while he was wading through the water, he lost his hat. I was able to grab it and give it back to him. While wading through the water, I was worrying about not being able to find crevasses to hold onto, Tyson and Charlotte (the people Infront of me) gave me advice which determined me more to the point I continued all the way to where there was rocks again. We walked for around 15 more mins until we turned around and headed back. On the way there, we spotted a cliff face. We had found part of the group by now, and some of us swam to the other side to jump in from the rock face. it was hard to breathe due to how cold the water was. But I made it. To get to the top of the rock face, there was a tricky bit to climb up. When I was going to head up, Sienna helped me find places to grip onto the rock, While Vicky helped as an extra step at the bottom to push me up. After that, we all walked up to the edge of the cliff, and Vicky showed us where the best spot was to jump. Then, of course we jumped in.
