The RAC be streetsmart excursion was incredibly informative and hard-hitting, and taught me that it is crucial to recognize the inherent risks associated with certain actions while operating a vehicle, such as driving while fatigued, under the influence of alcohol, distracted, or speeding. It showed me that engaging in any of these behaviors can lead…Continue Reading RAC be streestsmart excursion

Hi, I’m Finn. I am a committed, hard-working year 8 student who is ready to show the world what I can do. I have attended All Saints’ College for the past 4 years, and during these years, I have learned to push myself to my limits, both physically and academically. One of the examples where I had to really push myself to success was in project utopia, and you can access the page about at the top of this article. My goal is to improve myself every day, to be a better version of the person I was yesterday, learning from my mistakes, and taking pride in my success, no matter what size.

I take on the responsibility of looking after my 2 dogs and 2 stick insects at home. My favorite subject is humanities, and my dream job is to be a town planner. Preserving the environment is the passion that is closest to my heart. I always envision what I want the world to look like for my children, and my children’s children, and hope they get to grow up on a clean, healthy planet. I am a supportive individual that enjoys collaborative projects, and leads productively in group work. I also love photography, and I constantly have a camera in my hand, waiting for the moment of the perfect picture to arise. Here are some of my favorites.

I enjoy capturing animals and sunsets very much. I particularly enjoy bird photography, but it is very difficult. I use a Canon eos 1500d with a 55 – 250 mm lens for my best photos.

I like to maintain a physically and mentally healthy lifestyle, keeping fit on the inside and out. I have enjoyed the challenge of learning the clarinet, and now I play the saxophone. I also play a lot of sports, rugby, martial arts, soccer and surf lifesaving, among other things. I enjoy surf lifesaving very much, it is one of my passions, and hopefully one day, I will be able to put these skills to good use in my local community. In rugby, I play a center-forward. I am always looking for the ball and putting my body on the line for the winning try. I like mountain bike riding and I love the exhilaration of zooming through a bush trail, amongst nature.

I have had to adapt, and demonstrate many of the college’s capabilities. I would say that the capabilities that I demonstrate the most frequently and effectively would have to include resilience. During project utopia, we faced many challenges and pressure to finish, like going for accreditations for the global goals, building the physical city, typing up a full constitution, it was all very hectic, but at the same time required a cool head and a resilient state of mind.

I would also say that I demonstrate the capability of problem solving very well. I used this capability a lot during the English news broadcast assessment. There were a lot of challenges involved, like group members frequently being away and messing around, equipment not being available, and ultimately I had to use my initiative to solve the problem, filming two extra scenes and editing the entire 9 minute project at home by myself.

I contribute to the college in many ways, like taking part in running club before school two days a week, and being a part of the combined college concert band. You can see a link to my post about the recent spring serenade concert at the top of the page. I have also been honoured to be accepted into the year 9 house council, as well as represent the college at numerous interschool cross country and athletics carnivals over the years. I like to think that I bring a lot to this College, and I am so proud to have been given the opportunity to come to such an incredible College.
