Having a growth mindset is when you are open to other peoples ideas, the ability to keep moving forward and to be optimistic. An example of having a growth mindset is that every Sunday morning I got up and I went down to the river to do a 5-kilometre run, with my Dad. It was set up by the council and it was called the park run, then afterwards everyone was emailed with peoples times of that morning run. On the drive down there Dad always said to me that I have to try and finish the run in under 25 minutes. For the first two weeks, I was getting around the 27-minute mark to complete the course. I was scrolling through the times and I found that a 10-year-old kid was getting around 24 minutes, and I was really impressed. So next week I was around the 1-kilometre mark and I saw a young kid that was around 100-metres ahead, and I thought maybe that was the kid. So I speed up and then for the rest of the run I made sure that I was always 10 metres behind him. When I got home I looked at my emails and I found my name and I had beaten the 25-minutes by 20 seconds.
