$20 boss

Summary

In Innovated we having been working on a project called $20 boss. We get $20 each to make a project in groups. We make these projects to sell online and in a market. I initially thought this would be a great way to make some extra money and sell a innovative product. Our product idea was to make spotify inspired album covers on a glass backing. After a few weeks we realised that copy right would be an issue. We tried to think of new ways to re invent our product like using non-copyrighted art for the album covers. In the end I decided to not continue with our product. Next time I would try to brainstorm more ideas because we got stuck on one idea.

First stage

My group thought of a few ideas including beeswax wraps and acrylic nails. We mainly focused on spotify inspired album covers so that’s the product we chose. I think we got too stuck on that idea and weren’t willing to explore other ideas. When we realised that we had some copy right issues we felt stuck on what to do. We also relised another group was doing the same thing and they were more ahead in making their products. Our group split when we had the option to chose another activity to do in innovated. Pearl and Anna merged with another group to make the spotify album cover but Clara and I chose to do STEM through sport. I chose to do this because sport is one of my hobby’s so I would like to spend my time doing it.

Capabilities

The capabilities I used most were creativity and communication. I had to be creative because we had to think of ideas that not as many people have done before, although spotify cover have been done before, we changed it by drawing over the covers to make them look new. I had to communicate with my group o we were all on the same page. We made a group chat so we could share ideas about our covers. I think communication was one of the strongest points in our group. The capability i could improve on would be organisation, this is because we would often forget to print things out or bring our prototype to class.
