Hi, I’m Jayden Pope and this is my about me page

A little about myself…

I was born here, in Perth, along with many other children but this isn’t about them, this is about me. I was and am still an only child born into the greatest family, ok maybe not the greatest but still it great. See my parents migrated here because they thought it was the best for both of them, a couple of years went passed and they had me, a 4.1-kilogram heavy baby, and I’m not a doctor but I still reckon that’s over average. A couple of years go past and I start Kindergarten, and I’ll tell you now I was not expecting there to be so many kids, I expected there to be only seven to eight kids per class but instead, I was met by at least twenty to thirty children (there was a lot), so there was me trying to get to know people as best a could. A couple of more years go past and there I was on the edge of my seat (a year five), just hoping that my name would get called out, and to assure you it did, I was a student counsellor. A year goes past and I’m here in All Saints.

Co-curricular Activities

In Primary (or Junior) School I have always participated in sport, whether it be playing sport in recess and lunch (which I did) or getting into inter-school (which I also did). I have carried this into All Saints, doing house sport on Thursdays afternoons and more. Some of the sports that I do outside of school are Water Polo, Basketball, footy, and tennis.

Drama is something that I feel that I have always been drawn towards, I currently do Drama Hub after schools on Mondays. In primary school (or Junior) I was doing many performances, right now we (at Drama Hub) are working on a play that we will perform in term four, this play is called Chaos. It is about everything in the world being Chaos.

Outside of school, I play drums and piano, I also play in a band (it has no name). I just recently had a concert where we played three songs (Pumped up Kicks, Rolling in the Deep and Never Be), we were the third band to play and all of the other bands were way better than us but we all still really enjoyed the experience. Our next concert is sometime in October. I played (and still do) piano since year two, I also play tonnes of songs on the piano. I started drums when I was eight years old and I have continued until today.

Skills and Strengths

As a person I feel that I have many strengths and skills, I also feel that everyone is unique and has their own set strengths or/and skills that they are fond of, so I feel only fit to tell you mine…

I feel that from a young age I’ve always had the skill to stand out, or as you would probably put it being different, I could always think outside the box and come up with new ideas for maybe a project or game strategy. I also developed the ability to speak publicly, you can see this skill preformed when I gave my speech for student counsellor in year five.

I am also quite good at making new friends and making them along with everyone else around me feel happy and not down. I take myself as a person to be able to adapt really quickly towards a new challenge or problem, this skill I have been using a lot in my life, whether it be on camp while building a raft or just using my initiative in everyday life.

Personality

Sometimes I feel like a bomb that is about to explode but somehow or someway I don’t. I keep my cool, if someone upsets me I forgive and forget, if someone calls me something I don’t want to be called I forgive and forget. Ok, you get the point that I almost always if something bad or unfortunate happens to me I forgive and forget, but what you don’t know is that I cherish the good memories and try to keep them in the back of my mind.I’m kind, considerate and try to keep everyone happy even if I disagree with them, those are my true colours.

Family and Future Ambitions

My family has two sides, my mother’s and my father’s. My mom’s side comes from the Philippines, my dad’s family mainly comes from England but a small percentage comes from Whales. I was born in Australia after my mom and dad migrated here and had me, I have half two sisters (who are both older than me) and they both have children, making me an uncle. I have two nephews and one niece and they all live in Australia.

In the coming future, I want to improve my Drama skills and I want to become an actor when I’m older. Although this is a very hard profession I’ve really liked acting from a young age and I want to carry this on. If I don’t succeed in this area I will probably get into music, preferable drumming. Other than that I will probably decide on something different in the near future.

Hobbies

From a young age, I have had a few hobbies that reflect on me as a person. When I was about four years old I bought my first lego set, eight years later I about have a hundred. The reason why I like lego is that it reflects on resilience, for example when your construction is broken you have to find the time and effort to fix it. Another one of my hobbies is to attempt to create new songs on either piano or drums (mainly drums), I feel this helps me think outside the box and helps me be more creative.
