Online Behaviors Unit Reflection

In the online behavior’s unit, we learnt about the importance of behave responsibly, with empathy, with respect and using critical thinking online. Before the unit, the platforms I used were YouTube, Pinterest, Google, Messages, Foxtel and What’s app. In this unit I learnt that one of the most important things is putting yourself in others shoes and then the rest of the things come from there. The most important thing for me was when someone is going through a rough time don’t say at least to them. For example, if a friend moved away from school and someone else said, “Well at least you have friends” you wouldn’t feel any better at all so instead of doing that you empathize and support them by offering help. This unit made think about what I say when messaging friends or what I look at online and to think twice when looking at someone who looks like they are in need and don’t get caught up in being a bad person because of the people around you. In the future I will definitely consider more than just myself when online and I will make sure I think before I act. I will provide as much support as possible for people in need and I will try my best to be an up-stander not a bystander.
