Leadership and Teamwork

Teamwork and leadership are a very important skill to have while on camp, and throughout your life. During year 9 camp each group had a day when we were apart of a leadership group, and you were in charge of the group from the time we had to wake up, to the time we went to sleep. This really helped improve everyone’s skills including mine. It also helps us because in the future we will still have to use our two skills and have to keep improving them, and others like ERIC.

Another example of when we had to use our leadership and teamwork skills was during cooking. On the first day we chose our cooking groups, each group had 4-5 people in it. On the first night it was extremely chaotic because we didn’t have our roles set out and we were reintroduced to the Trangria sets for the first time in a year. After the first night my group decided that we should assign roles, so we had two people preparing and cooking, and the other two people would be the ones who cleaned and dried up. This proves that we demonstrated our teamwork skills, because we were all working together and also showed our leadership skills because we had to come up with the idea to give each of us roles.

Overall this experience on camp really helped me to improve my teamwork and leadership skills and ERIC. Throughout my life I will need to use these skills daily and I will always be looking for ways to improve them so that I can do my best. If I had not gone on camp I would not have improved my skills as much as I did over that period of time.
