Year 8

My best learning experience probably has to be the cathedral excursion. I actually learned a lot of information and stories from that excursion and it was kind of an eye opener in a way. Before I thought cathedrals were boring but now i am fascinated.

If i could redo year 8 I would have tried to be a little more organised and not worry so much.

My most enjoyable year 8 experience was at camp when we got to set up and sleep in our own tents because we were now exposed to the elements.

I have participated in lots of extra curricular activities and helped my house out.

I learnt that if I actually put a little more effort into something it can actually be done.

If i were to give advice to a new year 8 i would tell them to not worry so much and be happy.

Growth Mindset

When I was on holiday I had to climb a wooden rope bridge with crocodiles underneath it. i did not want to cross the bridge but I was motivated to try. I decided I would cross the  bridge even though it was extremely uncomfortable and I ended up walking on the bridge and it was slightly wobbly and then I crossed the bridge and felt relieved. This experience pushed me out of my comfort zone but using my growth mindset I decided that I would cross the bridge. This experience helped me to have a growth mindset and now I can give new things a try.

Innovate Ed

In innovate ed our project was to create a safe way to deliver food to residence in the aged care facility.  The food had to pass the food safety criteria and be kept warm and also keep the food neat at the same time. Our idea was to use reusable containers. This project required a lot of problem solving and critical thinking and I feel that I improved in those areas. The project also helped me to develop my communication skills as we where required to pitch and sell our idea.
