“My goal is not to be better than anyone else but to be better than I was”

Dr. Wayne Dyer

A little about me

The Christian name William has the historical meaning of “resolute protector”. Being named after significant members of my family fills me with a sense of pride. I believe my name’s meaning shines through in my personality in being a loyal, caring and a considerate quiet achiever. I value spending time supporting others when they are in need. Being a hard-working senior school student who is persistent and always achieving the best possible outcome is important to me. My efforts were rewarded in 2019 when I was presented with the prestigious Bussell Award for being a courageous and resilient student.  I am innovative and always trying to figure out how to do things in a different and more interesting way of using technology. As technology will become a big part of our lives in the near future, I gain immense satisfaction in helping and encouraging people to improve their skills in this area. The time that I spend with my cherished family and best mates, including my much-loved dog Molly is of utmost importance to me.

Where I have come from

Born in Perth WA I commenced my schooling at Mount Pleasant Primary School. I was fortunate enough late in year 2 to be welcomed into the All Saints’ College Community. I enjoy being an integral part of the All Saints Community by participating in the College’s running club, Senior Boys dance and basketball team. Following being presented with the dance award in year 6 and with a passion for dance, I demonstrated my commitment to this form of art by always giving 110% in the weekly practice sessions. These efforts all resulting in a fantastic dance concert on stage which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Teamwork is important to me because working together benefits us all rather than being in selfish isolation. I play basketball for All Saints’ and we use the team to work the ball to the basket. The college live stream crew is another team environment where I am able to exercise my talents working in collaboration with others in technology and photography.

I am an accomplished photographer who has won numerous awards in The West Australian Chevron Environment Photography state competition. I enjoy flying my Mavic Pro drone up in the air and capturing what the world has to offer to us in birds-eye view. Whether I am capturing photos of nature with my Digital SLR camera or below the surface of the water with my GoPro, I am always amazed to observe all the creatures and never before seen things. I love putting it in a different perspective. In 2020 I  created “Earth’s Album” – A photographic mini-business in the school propeller pop up shop, selling gift cards portraying my award-winning images of nature that I have taken. Many members of the school community have commented positively on my photos.

In my spare time I enthusiastically pursue outdoor adventure activities such as, mountain biking, wake boarding, four wheel driving and travelling with family and friends.

I am constantly curious about how machinery works and I love to build and fix things in the shed. I am always thinking about what technology will be like in the future and what our lives would be like.

Where I hope to go

I strive for excellence in all that I do by practising hard and having a positive mindset, being persistence and working in mastering the task. My strong passion for sport, the arts and technology opens me up to a wide range of enjoyable jobs in the future. My desire to always to do my best and a willingness to try new things is a resolute foundation to my bright future.

“My goal is not to be better than anyone else but to be better than I was” This is the quote that drives me to do the very best I can. This drives me to study, practice and try new things that are out of my comfort zone. This is some of the reasons why I do the things I do.
