As a year 10 group, All Saints attended the annual RAC Be Street Smart towards the end of term 1 with other multiple schools to learn about the risks and damages of driving a vehicle as we all begin the journey of starting to learn how to drive. Their was scenarios reenactments, expert opinions, real life stories and even a chance to look at cars and their safety. It was harsh but needed to see, especially when starting to learn how to drive.

My drink driving campaign.

The biggest thing i learned when at the RACbestreetsmart excursion is that when you are behind the wheel or a passenger, you are responsible for the safety of others and a small distraction can lead to fatalities.

A piece of advice i would give to young drivers is to keep aware of your surroundings and don’t get distracted by the people around you when behind the wheel. When I start driving I will pledge to stay responsible and make safety my main priority.

Overall the experience was positive and a good eye opener on the responsibilities of the road and I would recommend young drivers to attend.
