Towards the end of term 2, we had a project in science where we had to research different toilets. For mine, I found out the most commonly used toilet, the most environmentally friendly toilet, and the least environmentally friendly toilet. I also included various facts about toilets all over the worls. I will include some basic facts from my project below:
- The most common toilet model is the gravity flush toilet.
- The most environmentally friendly toilet model is the composting toilet, which composts human waste and re-uses it.
- The least environmentally friendly toilet model is the gravity flush toilet.
- A positive impact that toilets have on the environment is that when you flush away your faeces 0r urine, the germs go to the sewers, away from humans. If this didn’t happen, it would smell a lot more and it would also be a lot easier to get sick.
- A negative impact that toilets have on the environment is that nitrogen and phosphorus, two important chemicals that can be found in urine, is just flushed away in a regular, non-composting toilet, which wastes them.
