Brutalist Lego Sculpture Project

Lego Sculpture Project 🙂

Brutalism

Brutalism is a type of Architecture that emerged in the 1950s in the UK. It was among the post-war reconstruction projects. Buildings that are in the style of Brutalism are characterised by minimalist constructions that show bare building materials and structural elements over decorative designs.

My Sculpture 😀

At the start of this project, we were told to make Lego sculptures, which would later be used to make a mould out of pinkysil. After we made the moulds and removed all the Lego, we then used concrete and poured in in the moulds, then waited for it to set and took them out, giving us these Brutalism style sculptures. Then, with the two classes sculptures combined and made sort of a ruined city type thing. Some things I found challenging, was the creating of the small white box that held the Pinkysil. That was the only hard par of this project for me really hard for me. I found the rest of it quite easy 🙂
