What were the biggest things you learned while at the RACbstreetsmart excursion?
I learnt that the effects of a car crash can effect many people in long lasting huge ways.
The people it can effect are ranges from the close family or friends in the crash, the hospital people helping the injured in the crash.
Do not distract the driver, distracting the driver even in the smallest way can cause a huge crash.
Do not drink alcohol while driving , as it can affect the driver and the decisions the driver makes.
What one piece of advice would you pass on to young drivers above all else? Why?
One crucial piece of advice for young drivers is to always prioritize safety above everything else. This means following traffic laws, wearing seatbelts, avoiding distractions like texting or using a phone while driving, and never driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Your safety and the safety of others on the road should always come first.
Write down a pledge that you will commit to when you start driving.
I pledge to prioritize safety above all else when I’m behind the wheel. I will remain attentive, focused, and obey all traffic laws. I will never drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and I will always wear my seatbelt. I promise to respect pedestrians, cyclists, and other drivers, and to drive with patience and courtesy. I understand the responsibility that comes with driving, and I pledge to do my part to keep the roads safe for everyone.
