What was Project Utopia?

Project Utopia was a year 7 project where we had the assignment of building a ‘utopian society’ that is better compared to our current world, whether it be a physical model or digital model. We first started this project by reading The Giver book, which gave us a good understanding of what a utopian and dystopian society look/feels like. Soon after, we used our knowledge and plenty of other research of liveability factors to create a sustainable house in science. We also used them to work individually on what we think a utopia looks like and created a map.

On our first utopia InnovatED lesson, we filtered into our groups, learned and discussed the U.N. Global Goals, and decided on which ones were top priority to us. I was paired with Charlotte and Anna. Not long after, we got straight into designing our utopia, collecting our group’s ideas, and mixing it all together to create a base map of our utopia. During our construction and design, we had many guests come to All Saints’ to help think about what priorities should be looked into and what is most important to the community.
