Lock is a Year 9/10 elective that brings you to the outdoors and teaches you many things about camping and survival, such as kayaking, bush cooking and rock climbing . Recently, I have been thoroughly enjoying my time in Lock, and have used all the skills we learnt in our most recent day trip to Nanga Mill.

So Far:
Obviously, there were many activities that we got involved in throughout the day. Here are some of the few I found quite fun:
Treetop Adventures
After the lengthy road trip to get there, we started off with a fun and adventurous course at the Treetop Adventure place nearby. We got a quick crash course then were able to head out and climb through each leveled course. My friends and I started off with the flying fox course and started to make our way through the levels. Our rock climbing courses came in quite handy with this activity as we had the knowledge for using harnesses and being able to use our safety equipment.
Bush Cooking
Our last activity before we went home was to cook ourselves an afternoon tea meal using one of the open fire pits in the camping area. Our group decided to make some pancakes to enjoy. Unfortunately, our hotplate was severely bent, meaning it was impossible to create any circular shaped pancake. Although, we seemed to manage perfectly fine and they tasted somewhat edible once doused in maple syrup. It was super fun and we tended to our fire like we had learned before.
