Health Project (Driving)

What were the biggest things you learnt while completing this task?

Driving while been tired are as dangerous as drunk driving. It is always important to slow down during school zones, sometimes traffic light will not work properly, and you need to determine it yourself.

What one piece of advice would you pass on to young drivers above all else? Why?

It’s important to focus on the road while driving and try not to be distracted by the surroundings and everyone in the car.

Write down a pledge that you will commit to when you start driving. Why did you pick these things to commit to? How will you stick to these commitments?

I don’t want to drive.

Road Safety Issue

Why is it an issue for young people?

(Statistics – age, gender, rural or metro, trends, govern

Most young people do not drive in a sensible manner. 45 percent of injury death of young people in Australia are caused by car crushing.

Sources of Information

Why is this source reliable for young drivers to refer to?

It comes from a organisation called the youngdriverfactbase.com

Aim of the Campaign

What results do you want to achieve?

(A reduction in road fatalities and injuries due to…)

I want to make young people more aware of the dangerous of driving, and what to do after a mistake

Key Information

What information does the target group need to know?

(Statistics, effects on the body, ways to stay safer…)

The easiest way to for young driver to die is speeding, and about 80% of the death are male, so males should really be slow down.

The Safety Message or Slogan of the Campaign

What is it? Why is this message going to suit young people?

These posters uses humorous ways and game style pixel drawings to attract young peoples. Each poster has unique message to tell young people what to do and what not to do, it is simple and unique, so that young people will be attracted by the poster and they can read it quickly

Medium to be Used

What is the best way to deliver the message?

(Pamphlet, poster, newspaper or television advertisement targeted at high viewing times, mail out….

I used Poster or NFT as a message, because apparently that is what popular amongst young people.

Communication Approach

How will the campaign be presented to engage young people?

(Humour, realistic, portrayal, consequences, role models…)

My Poster used a humorous approach, the bizarre art style can make young people remember these posters forever, so they can learn more about safety drivings. Popular languages amongst young people has also been used in te poster to make it easier for them to memorise

Prototype 2

In our engineer project, we have built a spaghetti building that was able to stand a major Earthquake. We have three prototypes in total, prototype 0, 1 and 2. Our team starts with the research. In order to understand how to build an Earthquake resistant building, we have started our research. The result turns out that the triangle is the strongest shape of all. So our team decided to make a building out of rectangle prism. The Earthquake resistant building must be at least 60 cm in height. But the maximum height of a spaghetti is 25cm. So our group has joined three spaghetti together to form a long spaghetti as the structure of the building. But when we start to make the building, we have realised that the Blue Tack connected spaghetti is too weak to even support its own weight. Therefore, the prototype failed before even finished built. And that is the story of prototype 0. Since we still have materials (Blue Tacks and Spaghettis) left from the Prototype 0, we have gathered the spaghetti together, and wrapped them with blue tacks. Then we swapped our spare spaghettis to blue tacks with Ms Donnelly, and we used this giant piece of Blue Tacks as the base of our building to connect the spaghetti tower with the base. The building actually stands by itself. But it always tilts towards one direction just likes the Pisa Tower.

After a few days, the building has fell by itself, so we need to reconnect the building to the base. After the earthquake simulation, the building has finally fell. The simulation lasted for 10 seconds and our prototype 1 has Shaked left and right continuously and finally snapped from the bottom in the end of the simulation. Therefore, it is clear that our prototype 1 did not pass the Earthquake simulation, this was also predicted in our hypothesis, since the prototype 1 is not an actual design. Soon, our group started the prototype 2, unlike prototype 0 or 1, the prototype 2 uses an entire 25cm spaghetti as the structure of the building. This has made the prototype 2 has the ability to finally stand by itself unlike the prototype 0. Our group also had a long discussion of whether to use pentagon or the hexagon as the top surface of the building. Our group has used hexagon in the end, because it is the strongest shape other than the triangle. It is also a perfect shape to hold something on top, since the task for the prototype 2 is 25cm and it asks to hold a Lego person on top of the building. Triangles have also been used for the side of the hexagon building to create a stronger structure. During the Earthquake simulation, the building barely shake at all, at the end of the simulation, one spaghetti has fell out a bit from the structure, this was probably caused by the small amount of blue tacks. But other than that, the building successfully survived the simulation, and the Lego person on top of the building has also not fell.

Our team did not identify our different roles. We all worked together on the same task and moves on to the next one. But luckily, our working speed is still relatively fast in the class. Some repetition of the works has still happened in our group, some members, including me, has did the same work as other team members. In the investigation part, each team members have searched different type of research. Olivia has looked at different type of structures in the Earthquake resistant building. Sienna has researched about different ways to build spaghetti buildings, Zayn has searched up the strength of different shapes, and I have researched about Earthquake Resistant buildings in ancient time. Our group has also used different expertise to solve different problems. Zayn has come up with the idea of triangle shape to largely reduce our built price for prototype 0. Sienna has used her organisation to help the group to sort out spaghettis (building materials) and different research in the word document. Lastly, Olivia and I did all the calculation and the support of the structure of the Spaghetti building. Our group worked very well through out the entire engineering challenge. There are some arguments, but no one has been rude or aggressive, everyone has respected each other, and listen for different feedbacks. There are no leaders in our group, everyone has been treated the same and everyone has contributed in the team works. Zayn has used his strength, quick reaction to save the tower from falling down a lot of times. Olivia and Sienna has used organisation and collaboration to design the Earthquake Resistant building and the group word document, and I have used creativities to come up with special designs such as the prototype

7 years ago (2014), I was still a student in China. My friends and I had a ‘Holiday Exploration’ in a park near the town of WuZhen. There are four people in total, ZhongRen, WeiChen, Jack, and I. The Park was filled with trees and bushes. As we walk through the park, the route became more and more unclear, until we’re all lost. As the smartest person in the group, I have stood up and taken the role, ‘leader’. 30 minutes late, my friend WeiChen found the Liang Ting, which we stayed in the mourning.

A picture of Liang Ting

‘Hey, I remember there, that’s the entrance of the park, let’s go!’ WeiChen shouted. Unfortunately, there was a creek between us and the Liang Ting. ZhongRen refuses to cross the creek because he is wearing his new shoes. it is for me, the leader, to decide what to do. WeiChen tried to persuade ZhongRen that the creek is so shallow that it will not damage his new shoes, but I believe that it is extremely wrong for WeiChen to push his idea onto ZhongRen. ‘You need to respect other people’s opinions!’ I warned WeiChen. At that moment, I stood up for the weak.
Three hours later, we are still lost in the forest. WeiChen found that Jack has a phone. He asked why Jack didn’t call anyone for help, but Jack said that he do not want to rely on the others to get out of the park. I thought that was a very good idea because it could help me to improve my leadership and groups collaboration skills. So I yelled at WeiChen and told him never to speak again.
Finally, on my lead, we have reached the Liang Ting after 4 hours of exploring. I gained a lot of leadership abilities through this experience. I learned how to manage a group of people, and how everyone’s opinion should be heard. I believe that every problem can be overcome with great teamwork.

WOODWORK

During the woodwork class, I gained a lot of capabilities. Such as creativity. In my Project, I have rounded the angle of wood and made one side flat. The reason why I made that flat side is because that it is easier to press the button. I put a lot of Effort into the design of my work. I also made my own silhouette put of a image of a plane of Porco Rosso, and it is very creative because it comes from a movie which is very creative and the design of the edge of the wood is inspired by Patrick and Josh who moves in a strange pattern which also show on my project. The wood grain of the pine is interesting and creative. Different grains have formed some linear patterns that shows you the age of wood. The way I soldered my LED part is also very creative, I used lead to solder and the process is extremely creative in a certain way, and I successfully finished my requirements. There is also a red and black wire soldered together which is beautiful and creative. The way I sanded my project is also very creative. Instead of sanding quickly, I sanded slowly, which gives the work a more elegant design.

料理课 二零二一

In the food class, we have made some cakes, tastes likes rubber. The making of cake is very annoying, and the look of result is satisfying. It looks likes that.

But what does the food taste likes, that!

The Best Ultra High Performance Tires, 2021 - AutoGuide.com

The reason why the cake taste likes a tyre is probably because of the recipe. Since every food class only takes about two hours, it is very hard to finish them in one lesson. In fact we need to take 3 week to finish it. Therefore, in order for the cake to store, we need to choose a different recipe from common cakes. The benefits we received from the cake is that it can store much longer compare to a normal one, but unfortunately, because of the change in the ingredient, the tecture of cake becames much more harder, which makes it taste likes an erasers. My friend also believes that the taste of the cake does felt likes rubbers. Therefore, if we do a similar project in food next time, it is probably the best ideas to make something that can store much more longer.

The next project we did in food is called the grazing table. Each student choose their own food and to make, the project itself is called grazing table, but the food itself is more like a buffet rather than a grazing table.

The dish i choose is Butterscotch cinnemon pie from the game undertale. And i think we did pretty well in the making of the pie. But the pie itself, ended up a bit to liquid in the end, which means that it is very hard to cut. Overall, i think that both of the food projects are very IntErEstInG.

What are we doing?

We are researching the favourite book genres of year 9’s and how much they read. The results will be interesting as we will explore how different things such as gender, books read, etc.. effects how much people read and their favourite book genres. This information could help book writers, book stores and libraries by giving them some suggestion to help them write or sell books which are relevant to the current population. This might help by decreasing technology usage, which is an important modern issue, of this year level. There has been little research done on this topic and therefore it is important for us to conduct this survey and record the results on infogram for future use.

Data Bias and Survey type

I think that the sampling method was a convince targeted sample. This was because it was targeted to year 9’s at all saints as we were convenient. This introduces bias simply because the year 9’s at All Saints cannot represent all the students at All Saints and all the year nines in the world. Another form of bias is that All Saints contains high paying students and parents for high education. This means that this data cannot represent the year 9’s of lower pay and education. The sampling size is would be biased if it represented all the year 9’s in the world or the entire population of the school. This impacts the generalizability of our results as it only really represents the higher end of education and pay and therefore it cannot be used for all year 9’s or students.

The data reliability

The reliability of the survey is a tiny tiny tiny bit low. In the survey, it did not give a definition of a book. This means that students might ask: “does audio books count as a book?” “What about manga’s/comics?” or “My grandma bought a smartphone with a user manual, does that means my grandma read more books than me?” Even though the definition of ‘book’ has been a bit confusing in the survey, the survey itself still gives useful information. It could be biased only if the students decided to put in false answers and incorrect information which would hinder the data reliability. This is evident in the Non-Binary section of or data in the box plot as it had a ridiculously high result (365). This skewed our data and its reliability as it could be a false answer or they just read a book a day. Another example would be the book selection itself. Another example of false answers are that people put non-binary as a joke so we had to go through and delete this. as we have stated before some students might wonder what counts as a book, comics, user manuals etc… this hinders the results as they do not know what to put and therefore they may not have put their true answer meaning that not all the answers are acute Making the data unreliable. This makes the data bias as it is inaccurate and unreliable. With this being said though much of the data was very reliable and useful.

The article of the principle of justice in the Lloyd Rayney case.

“Murderer, you are a murderer!” Since 7th August 2007 Corryn Rayney has been found missing after leaving her boot scooting lesson at 7:30pm. After four days, her body has been found buried in king’s park on the 11th of august. The police immediately suspects that Lloyd Raney, the ex-husband of Corryn Rayney,  is the murderer of Corryn Rayney, because they believes that he ( The accused ) has financial distributes with Corryn Rayney, which has became the motivation of why the accused  want to murder the deceased(Corryn Rayney). The media has spread tons of news about how Lloyd Raney is responsible for the death of Corryn Rayney. Even though there is no directed evidence that proves the accused has killed the deceased. Public have influenced by media and started to think that the accused is responsible for deceased’s death. At the end, Lloyd Rayney has applied for a fair trial which later has been accepted by the court of western Australia. In the end of the case, the Judge has found Lloyd Rayney not guilty, because of the lack of the evidence from the WA government.  In this case there were a lot of fair and unfair decisions made by both prosecution and the court. So in this essay, It will explain the three principle of justice: presumption of innocence, court has onus to approve if a person is guilty or not and the right to request a fair trial, and how they have been supported and compromised In the Lloyd rainy case .

Firstly, in the Lloyd Rayney case, the presumption of innocence has not been followed because of ‘unreliable hypothesis that has been spread by the police and media. The principle of justice ‘presumption of innocence’ stated that everyone is innocent before the law, until being proven guilty by the court. In the Lloyd Raney case, the WA police has used the sentence ‘prime and only suspect’, to describe the accuse (Lloyd Raney).  This action from the WA police is confusing and irresponsible as an authority. The police has announced there opinions about the case to public without asking permission from the court nor has police have any direct evidence that the accused murdered the deceased. This behaviour has not only broken the presumption of innocence, which is an universal human rights, and it is also shameful, since this statement is posted by the police, which also represents the government. Not only the police are unfair to the accused, the media also did not fulfil their responsibility. Instead of reporting on the case of Corryn Rayney itself, they have twisted the case towards Lloyd Rayney is a Murderer, rather than stay in neutral. This has changed some of public’s opinion which forced the accused to apply for a fair trial. Therefore, the presumption of innocence has been broken by the WA police and media.

secondly, the principle of justice, ‘court has onus to approve if one person is guilty or not’ have stated that the court has responsibility to judge if a person is guilty or not, and it is the only organisation that has the authority to prove one’s guilty. in this case, the WA court has followed this principle of justice by giving a final statement from the judge “I am not satisfied that the accused killed the deceased. I find the accused not guilty of wilful murder and not guilty of manslaughter.” This means that the court of WA has fulfilled their duty. But the WA police has disobeyed this principle by accusing Lloyd Raney as guilty. Even though that police have authority to arrest people, they still don’t have rights to charge people for crime before the dinal sentence from the court. Therefore, the court has followed ‘court has onus to approve if one person is guilty or not’ while the WA police disobeyed it.

The third principle of justice has stated that ‘the accused has rights to request a fair trial.’ The word ‘fair trial’ means a court case without any juries, also known as a ‘judge only trial.’ The reason why this principle of justice is involved in this case is because that the media and police showed their opinions on the case which has suggested that the accused is responsible for the deceased’s death, which changes the way how public think about the accused, Lloyd Rayney. It is also because that the Lloyd Rayney case is the only few cases in WA that involves ‘murdering’, which made this case so famous that everyone already have their own opinion about this case before the trial. This can cause that the jury might decide the decision of the case based on their friends and medias, instead of the evidence that has been presented in the court. Therefore, the accused, Lloyd Rayney, has requested a fair trial because of all the opinions that has spread by the police and medias is disadvantageous to him. The court has also aware the public’s opinion, so they accepted the fair trial which requested by the accused. In this principle of justice, the court and accused both followed right to request for a fair trial.

In conclusion, it is easy to tell, that some of the principle of justice has been broken through the Lloyd Rayney case. Lloyd Rayney, (the accused) has been charged as ‘guilty’ by the WA police, which did not follow the presumption of innocence. The police and media also spread their opinions to the public, which break the principle, ‘court has onus to approve if one’s guilty or not.’ But the court of WA did fulfilled their responsibility by found the accused not guilty. And lastly, the court and accused has both followed the right to request a fair trial, since the accused requested a fair trial and the court accepted it. Therefore, in the Lloyd Raney case, some principle of justice have been followed and the others did not.

I have improved my version by putting more evidence and explanation into my essay. In my previous version, i wrote the entire essay based on what i think. This means that my previous version is super subjective. This can cause a lot of problem, such as lack of evidence, or even change some facts. So in this version, i have tried to write my essay based on evidence, instead of purely on what i think about the case.

Health (online safety)

I used a social media called Wechat in year 5&6 but after year 6 I stopped using it, because I think those social medias will just waste your time, and can’t let me focusing on my work.  during health program this term, we learned how to respect other people and their’s opinion online, how to help peoples that being bullied online, use critical thinking to determine weather one thing is true or not, using empathy when you are writing comments to reply other people, and the responsibility of being  an online user. I think the most part of our health program is very useful, especially the critical thinking, because we used it all the time, and I did not realised it until i learned it during the health program. Even though we learned lots of stuff during health, it will still not change my behavior, because I learned similar things over and over in schools, Add on that, I did not agree with some of the point in our health lesson such as when other people don’t respect other you, you still need to respect them, which i think is a bit unfair, and you need to stand up for every people that been bullied online, which might make yourself been bullied, and will also waste a huge amount of time, maybe hours and hours. I think school should let student decide what to do online, than just telling them what they should do, because their is so many unpredictable thing online. That’s why i think this will not change my online behavior in the future.
