Empathise

We empathised by researching and connecting with others. We asked other people about what they would want in an ideal Christmas Gift and how much they would spend on it. We also researched some possible ideas that we might wanted to sell.

Define

We defined our idea by pitching it to the teacher. We showed her our prototype and some photos of similar products. She didn’t approve our idea at first saying that our rings were too hard to make so we reconsidered. We decided to use fake flowers to make our products instead of real ones.

When we were at the shops trying to find charms and fake flowers to make our bracelets and rings. When we couldn’t find anything, we got together and reconsidered our ideas and decided to make crystal bracelets, earings and mason jars instead because we were able to find all the stuff and Ruby and Amelie had some left over stuff from their older siblings Christmas markets.

Ideate

We came up with ideas on how to make our products, how to design our table and what area we wanted to have our table in. We decided we wanted to make our products by using clear, stretchy string and then threading crystals and beads onto it and tying it at the ends. We made the earrings by tying tassels to the ends of the earring hooks.

Prototype

We started to make our product and didn’t run into any troubles. it was all good and we made enough to get our money back and make a huge profit of $100. We sold all of our stuff at the market.

What I Would Change

If we were to do the market again, I would make a prototype of each product that we were thinking of selling and then only do the 2 most popular ones, because we had 4 different products and we sold out of 2 of them but still had a few left over for the others. I would make sure that we were doing the product before we bought the stuff for the product. I would also make the prices of our products higher to $5 because I think people would still buy it. We didn’t have any packaging because we ran out of money and couldn’t afford any so next time, I would make sure that we save enough money for packaging. I think that even if we did have packaging, we would have still set up our stall the same way so that people could see the products, and then put it in a bag once the consumer had picked which one they wanted. Another thing that I would do differently would be to talk to more people as they were walking by to grab their attention and bring them over to our stall.
