Media Advertisement Project

The Planning Process

At the start of this project, we had to think of what product we could advertise. At first we came up with Dino Chicken Nuggies, but we then thought that it would too much of a hassle to film. We later decided that we would a Monster Energy ad. We planned out that we should make it to do with sports because when you play sport, you get tired and you want energy. The sport that we used was basketball because it is quite common and makes you tired so it was a good idea to represent energy drinks.

The Production Process

To create the film, we had to create a script and find a suitable area for recording. We used a camera on a tripod for some, and then a held camera for the next part. When we were recording, we would stop videoing and then move to a different location so it wouldn’t get boring.

Post Production Process

After we finished recording, we had to edit the video. We used Adobe Premiere pro to edit it. It was a great tool, but it kept crashing and freezing so it was quite tricky, but we got there in the end. We first had to learn about the basics of Premiere which was the panels at the top, and the two screens displaying different options for the actual video.

The Final Overview

This project was very fun. It was quite interesting too because we got to add all of our strengths together. With Rithvik’s editing skills, we could enhance the film to make it even more engaging. With Fin’s basketball skills it was easy to film because we didn’t have to re-take because of mistakes of our routine. And with my filming skills we could get some good shots and angles for the ad. Next time we could have done it better by editing on the desktop computers because Premiere Pro would run better which would be more efficient. Overall, this was a great task and I would love to do it again.
