Fixed and Growth Mindset

Growth Mindset activities for teachers and students — Innovative Teaching Ideas

A fixed mindset is when you have been struggling with something and you started to think that you can’t do it. Where as a growth mindset is when you believe that you can complete this goal you have and get past a road block.

A time i have had a closed/ fixed mindset is when I couldn’t learn a song on the guitar. I started to do less work and I didn’t practise what I needed to do for homework and to improve. I struggled more and more so I ended up quitting.

A time I had a growth mindset though is when I got cut from WABL which is a basketball team which represents your club and faces off against others I thought I could get better so I practiced and refined my skills and this year I made a WABL team also a higher team than I did 2 years ago.
