Precious plastics (Innovat[ED])

Hello everyone.

For Innovat[ED] this term (or two) I was assigned to the Precious plastics challenge, which is what I put as my first preference in the survey we filled out a week or two ago. I think I can take this challenge on by using my capabilities of Problem-solving, Teamwork/Collaboration, leadership, and Creativity. This will be a great activity for me because I have always disliked how there is so much plastic in the world, so I can take this challenge with passion. There are five trillion pieces of plastic in the world’s oceans, weighing a total of 268,000 tonnes. I think that’s kind of ridiculous.

My family and I went to Thailand in 2018, and one day we took an ocean tour in kayaks. My brother and I were shocked at how much plastic there was in the ocean and we spent much time collecting the rubbish. By encouraging the Precious plastics program we can clean up the world one ocean tour and one person at a time. We can all do our bit, and that’s how great changes happen.

I think that All Saints implementing the Precious plastics program is such a good idea because it can teach young children that you can reuse plastic and help the environment.
