Year 7 Project X – Media Advertisement

During this project I worked with Kate Grogan and Charlotte Parker to create an advertisement for the bubble tea shop T4

The Planning Process

If I was to pitch this ad idea to a producer in one sentence this is what I would say:

Bubble tea is a popular drink for all people, so if we create an advertisement the industry is going to expand even more!

We came up with this idea because we wanted to highlight the benefits of bubble tea for all consumers.

Before we could start creating this ad we needed to make a storyboard and script. A storyboard is very important part of the planning process as it shows you every scene you need to film what shots you are using. It also keeps you on track shows you when you have finished filming.

The Production Process

To film our advertisement we used cameras with tripods. These cameras were very helpful as their height was adjustable and they could come off the tripods which allows close action filming. In media I learnt that there were lots of different types of shots and they can all evoke different emotions. If you were to point the camera downward, this angle would create a sense of weakness or defeat. If you were to point the camera upward this would create a sense of power and status. It could also suggest that that the character’s very mean. We didn’t actually use any of these shots but if we were to film again I would have used them to enhance our ad.

The Post-Production Process

Our advertisement was improved in the post production process. To edit our ad we used Adobe Premier Pro. This program allowed us to trim our videos, insert audio an use a green screen to add a picture in the background of our ad.

The Final Overview

Our final advertisement

Overall I think our ad is ok. We did well when acting our characters but I feel like our ad could have shorter and to the point. The way we could have done this is by really connecting with our target audience and having more experience in the planning stage. I had lots of fun filming this ad and learnt a lot about organisation and planning.
