Through the Years
Year 7
As a year 7 at All Saints, I was exposed to all sorts of opportunities at the College. Coming from a small public school, this was pretty life-changing. I had so much more to deal with, like:
- Technology
- Your own laptop
- Responsibilities
- Having to take the bus
- More than three co-curricular choices
- So, so many opportunities
- Streamed maths and English extension
- Much more homework
- Lockers
- Many different teachers and subjects
- Much larger campus
- Multiple uniforms
As had been said in science multiple times, I had to adapt or die. The things that were the hardest to deal with had to be the laptop, lockers, having to take the bus, and by far, homework. At my primary school, we got about one maths worksheet a week, and no one really cared if we didn’t do it. We also occasionally, (about once a month) got homework from other classes. As usual, no one cared that much. However, All Saints give A LOT of homework compared to what I was used to, it was quite strict, and most of all, it was on a new fandangled laptop of my own.
Year 8
For me, Year 8 was as big a jump as Year 7. Suddenly, the work was much more difficult, the homework was piling up, and the tests and projects were far more complex (usually). I had to deal with this pressure, as now the consequences were much higher. In some subjects, like health, the classwork was worth a bit of your grade, so you had to work hard.

Values
My top ten values are as follows:
- Knowledge
- Creativity
- Trust
- Friendship
- Curiosity
- Caring
- Understanding
- Independence
- Reliability
- Honesty
1. Knowledge
I like using my knowledge to understand the world around me and it inspires me to learn even more things. Knowledge makes you wise, which helps you to create good decisions as well as be able to empathise with others and help them. Using my knowledge to understand things means I can more effectively draw conclusions and problem solve in many areas including my current study environment, my friendships and free time, and my future work environment.
2. Creativity
Creativity allows you to express yourself. It is important to be different from everyone as it allows you to be unique in the ways you can help people. If you are creative you can support and encourage people as well as them supporting and encouraging you and your ideas. Because I am creative, I have chosen to do things such as drama, which allows you to express your ideas and get feedback when improvising. Music is also very creative, as it requires me to sometimes comprehend the composer’s intentions (also music is good for your brain). Creativity allows you to be open to new ideas and helps me to adapt to unique situations.
3. Trust
Trust is important for everyone as it is the foundation of friendships and relationships. Trust in others makes me more open to sharing my problems and thoughts with people. Trust allows me to ask for help and be sure I will receive it. If you are trustworthy, you are perceived as honest and will receive more responsibilities. Receiving more responsibilities allows you to make more decisions and more important decisions.
