Christmas Market

Overview

The Christmas Market is a project where the Year 7 students create their own business and sell their own products. The students then host their own market to raise money for the Salvation Army. This project incorporates four subjects: HASS, for economics; English, for advertising; InnovatED, for the making of the products; and Digital ICT, to keep track of our profit, loss, and purchases.

My Group’s Business

The Final Advert

My group’s business was ‘Stuff That Santa‘. As the name might suggest, we made hand-sewn goods. We focussed on making 2 types of stockings, and glittered stars. The stockings were red with little christmas trees on the front. The green stockings had a bell design on the front. Our business was not too successful, though we did end up making $20.80 in profit. We ended up having to lower the stocking price from $5 to $4, and even then they weren’t to popular. Out of the ten (five of each type) stockings we made, we sold six, four red and one green. The stars, at price of $3, sold out by the end of the market.
