My Growth 2023

Over the course of this year, I have significantly improved my studying and focusing skills. When I started year 9, at the beginning of 2023, I was still struggling to stay on task and maintain my focus. However, over the course of this year I have managed to massively decrease the time it takes for me to complete homework and projects and I have also increased the quality of my work. As a result of this, my time management has improved greatly, and my overall stress levels are lower than last year.

I have been trying to work on this for a while, since I made a promise to myself mid-year 2022 to do better, and I am happy that this is now showing evidence that I am improving. I have learnt, through talking with my parents and older sister, in addition to inner reflection, my best study and focusing patterns. I found that I work best when in a conversation with someone, where they ask me the questions and I answer them while voice recording. I then translate this into writing. Another method that I found quite effective, this time individual, was writing on pen and paper. This way I am not distracted by a laptop, and I feel better looking at paper for a long time than staring at a screen. This also allows me to connect better with what I am writing better than if I typed everything.

Altogether, I am more than pleased with my progress towards efficiency, but I know that it will always need work. I understand that learning how to study effectively is not a point you can reach, it is an everlasting goal you must continually strive for. I hope that I remember to never give up on this goal.
