Our Inspiration

We got our inspiration from when we were brainstorming diseases, and alopecia came up. The second reason is coincidentally before that, the incident where Will Smith got offended for his wife who had alopecia had happened, so it was another factor of our decision. Our last reason was that we wanted something that we would be passionate about, and alopecia is a relatively common thing that appears in the process of growing up and getting older. We wanted to get to know more about why it happens and what changes it would cause to people so that people know to empathise with them instead of judging them.

Any Help We Received and Sources:

During the process, we received help from our science instructor who checked our script to proof-read any scientific terms or topics. We also received some help from multiple peers for the reading our poem at the end of the video.

As our sources, for the initial researching stage, we used:

Websites such as healthdirect.gov.au, medicalnewstoday.com, webmd.com, and mayoclinic.org to get facts and images.

How Does This Link To ‘Change’?

Our film explains the science behind alopecia and how it effects its victims. Since the topic is Change, we look at the changes in the victims’ appearances and the change in their integumentary system which consists of parts such as hair, nails, and skin. The video includes images to compare and identify the differences of victims’ scalps.
