Project Utopia, a project that has been linked to our learning throughout the 3 terms in HASS (Humanities and social sciences), English, Science, Digital ICT, Innovated Ed and Connected Learning. The main goal of project ‘Utopia’ was to create a Utopian Community/Society accrediting any of the 17 Global Goals. During this project, we are needed to accredit and implement some Global Goals in our Utopian Community. Global goals I have learnt about are Global Goals 2, 3, 11 and Global Goal No.16. Global Goal No.16 is peace, justice, and a strong institution. In this goal, I have learnt that there are alternative options to make peace then just making laws as my group had created a mechanical creation. This mechanical creation is called a safety clicker which has 2 sides, one red and another blue, if you click on the red side, your location would be sent to your parents if you feel a bit unsafe. Clicking the blue side would send your location to the police which would be used in serious situations.

Creativity and problem solving, two ASC capabilities which I have improved in throughout this project. Creativity and problem solving were needed to find the solutions that the project, teachers and the special guests gave us as feedback. During this project, we had some problems such as where would some things be, as our plan did not have certain buildings and thinking about environmentally friendly pathways we may need inside our community. Problem solving and creativity came in here as we are needed to make space for the buildings to be placed and moving around other buildings to create the pathways.

Public speaking skills was another aspect inside this project utopia, as we were needed to have a formal conversation to the parents about what we have done in this project. My public speaking skills have improved during this Project Utopia as the tasks that lead up to this project had the aspect of public speaking for example. In science, before the sustainable house, we were needed to find nonrenewable and renewable energy sources and to present what they are and how they are a renewable source. After that, we moved onto the sustainable house and once again, we were needed to present our sustainable factors and features we have learnt about. These times when I am needed to go out of my comfort zone has improved me as I am less nervous to go into public speaking, and I intend to look at people’s faces often.

This project took around 3 terms to finish, but now we have made it here, done and finished. I have learnt many new things during these 3 terms in these many subjects in school and only a few aspects of what I have learnt were written in the last few paragraphs. Not just that, but I have also gotten to know people I have never socialized with and in general, this project was pretty fun working with new people and learning things we have never learnt before.
