Christmas Market Project

The Christmas market was a nice and fun project to do. This “Christmas market” Project was a project, where we had gotten $30 as an investment. With this $30, we had to make a product and sell them to the year 5s and higher (the consumers). Although this was our final product idea, we had many other ideas such as candles and beeswax wraps.

This $30 had led to chasing tails gourmet homemade dog treats. We had also needed to use the College capabilities and ERIC to complete this project. Some college capabilities that I had used and improved on were organisation, resilient, collaborative, and problem-solving. My organisation was needed as we needed to do some of our work at home, meaning I would need an organisation to organise some time for me while I had homework for Maths, English, and Science. Collaborative (ASC capability) was needed to collaborate with my teammate with decisions and the final product.

This project had taught me many things, such as skills and had improved some of my ASC capabilities. One of the most important things this project had taught me was how to find a price for the product as that would set us up in the future as a business and gaining money. This has taught us how an investment works, and, in the future, we may make investments. I had also improved on collaboration as I had gone with someone I have not gone with, meaning I’d need to collaborate with my partner more. An example would be that I and my partner were needed to think of a final product to sell on, as we had constantly texted each other about what our product should be.

Some challenges were that one of the dog treats had made oil stains on the bags, so we needed to empty the bags and buy grease-proof paper to repackage them again, showing that we were using resilience, an ASC capability.

In conclusion, this project was an exciting and fun project to do. I had learnt many life skills that I would use in the future and had improved on many skills. In total, we had made $92 and $62 profit then donating it to the salvation army.
