Effects of agriculture on the water cycle

Agriculture can infect both groundwater and surface water with pesticides, animal wastes, antibiotics, silage effluents, and processing wastes from plantation crops. When some of these particles mix with the water they can combine with rain to produce acid rain, further causing a negative effect on the water cycle. Agriculture also causes erosion of soil and damage to land which can disrupt processes such as run off , ground water and transpiration.
