Renewable Sources
Solar power
Solar Power is a renewable source because it doesn’t produce any carbon dioxide and never runs out. It is a great way to make energy because the sun rises everyday, it doesn’t cost much extra to run and you can easily install it onto your roof. Solar power is very reliable because you can get around the problem of night by purchasing batteries that store the spare solar power that is generated during the day. After the batteries have been charging during the day, they are ready for use at night which is why solar power is a very reliable energy source that can be used 24/7. Solar power costs around five thousand dollars to install but is free to run.
Wind Power
A single wind turbine can produce over 8 megawatts per day which is enough to power 6 homes for a whole year. Although they can produce electricity on large scales, they fail at least once per year and cost $300 000 to repair a single blade. Wind power costs 2-4 million dollars to install and 42 to 48 thousand dollars per year to run and maintain.
