What was the project? What are the success criteria for the competition?
Our goal was to make a video that was both educational and also extremely entertaining. Not only this but an extra layer of added difficulty was that the video had to be based on this year’s theme, “change”. We were being judged on how clear and logical, the video was, how relevant and accurate it was (with appropriate language) and finally how creative it was as well as how it demonstrated that we were passionate.

How did we organise our group members? Specific roles? How would you improve your work in this aspect?
Our group was organised by having assigned roles. This occurred especially during research as the members of our group were delegated a question(s) to research. Because of this strategy, we were all able to share our ideas as well as complete a relatively equal amount of work efficiently. Also, when actually making our video, we needed to have roles according to our skills and strengths. For example, those who were good at drawing would likely be given the role of illustrating for the stop motion video. To improve our work we could have made it more balanced during the filming phase as people were left out due to the lack of things to do.
Did we have disagreements? How did we work them out?
Overall, we had minimal disagreements. Because we were able to get along, we quickly managed to decide on our idea (photosynthesis) and what type of video we would do (stop motion). This meant we could spend more time on research and creating the video rather than arguing on what form of change we should do. One of the largest factors that lead to us choosing stop motion was that we had a member of the group who was experienced in drawing and also there was an abundance of inspiration form youtube.
How was your time management? How would you do better if you repeated this project?
I believe that our time management was quite organised and good. We could plan ahead on lessons to decide when things needed to be done when we would start… etc. On top of that, our video was completed on time and because of our planning was quite good. To possibly improve, we could have spent less time on small details during the drawing phase for the stop motion video. We went through many slides but they could have potentially been shortened and less time could be wasted.
