Collaboration
is a widely used capability in all workplaces and situations. I believe that
collaborative skills are among the most important when working with peers.
Monitoring group progress, sharing ideas/opinions and completing set tasks are
all necessary to complete a common goal. Because of this, I have tried to
collaborate with team members in the many group projects I have experienced
throughout the school. One example from Year 8 English is the Current Affair
Group Production. We had to work with group members to create a Current Affair
video. We relied on each other to monitor our progress, shared ideas on how to
act out part of the script and complete all the tasks designated to our role.
Tejas, one of my group members was editing while my other group members, Rohan,
William and I were more focused on acting out the scenes.
Learner
agency refers to the way that learners make their way through their life and
learn to better their circumstances. Using feedback, efficient working and
sourcing information is ways learners can navigate their way through their
learning. Learner Agency is another skill that is important for people in work
situations. Although it may sound complicated at first, I believe that it is
not too difficult to understand and get a grasp of. In Year 8 English, I
receive feedback on my tests and try to incorporate it into my other tests and
writing. By doing this, I’m trying to better my results in Year 8 English. Although,
I’m still getting used to using feedback in English. Another example of Learner
Agency is efficient working. Working without distractions is a good way that
learners can better their learning.
