In semester 1 woodwork we made a handle for a spinning top. To do this we needed several different machines, there was the disk sander, the scroll saw, the pedestal drill and the spindle sander. We also sketched multiple designs onto a piece of paper and then chose the best one. We then sketched that design onto our handles and used the machines to cut out the shapes we wanted. My design was fairly simple, I had a large hole for your hand to sit in, and then a smaller hole on the opposite side for your thumb to fit into. I then sanded the handle until it was silky smooth. I chose my design Because it was simple and easy to make, so I knew I wouldn’t mess it up. the design was also simple enough to not mess up the spinner.
