Dear Mr Daggers
Job: Contingent Leader, 16th New Zealand Venture
My name is Chris Goddard, and I am very keen to be considered for a position as a Contingent Leader for the 16th New Zealand Venture.
I am currently a Year 12 student at All Saints College and my long-term aim is to work in mechanical engineering.
I feel I would be an excellent choice for the role. My previous scouting experience includes:
- State Cub Camp (Lead for air activities)
- Australian Jamboree (Patrol Leader)
- Venture 24
- Camp West
- Enduro
- One Camp
I believe I would be good for this role because I have spent a lot of time with scouts in the past.
Throughout my time in scouting, I’ve learnt skills such as orienteering, sailing, knot tying, camping, how to pack for an expedition, teamwork, and leadership. I have been an active member of the scouting movement for 10 years, during which I have learnt a lot and have thoroughly enjoyed my time. During my time in Scouts, I have been on many camps such as OneCamp, Camp West, Enduro, and Jamboree, memories of which I will cherish for the rest of my life. I have skills and extensive experience in leading, supporting, and facilitating various events.
I am a trustworthy, creative, competent person who is adept at working in groups and independently. I am quick to learn new skills and always willing to try any opportunities that arise.
My previous work history includes a week in a workplace learning placement as an assistant for Penjet at Perth Airport, as well as many various volunteer roles assisting at scout events and with younger sections.
I have attached my resume below.
