Hass Letter Assessment
We had to make a letter to our local, state or federal. Mine was state because it was on public transport and the issue was about how it is extremely crowded and how the state of the trains and busses have decreased.

Dear Mr Baker
My name is Conor Stevens and I am a year 8 student at All saints College. I am writing to ask you to support creating more public transport services around the state of WA but mainly Perth.
I like to use Transperth public services a lot, and I am truly concerned with how unacceptable these services are.
These service such as trains and busses have multiple things wrong with them, but I will be mainly focusing on the lack of space these services have.
Firstly, when it’s peak hour these trains and busses are absolutely overflowing with people and there is no room to sit making us have to stand and get thrown around when it stops. This is also a problem because anyone who has the money can board a train or a bus, this is bad because like recently covid has been spreading like wildfire this is especially because of public transport, no one wears a mask and its packed so we don’t have enough room to social distance increasing the number of cases by plenty.
Not only are the busses and trains crowded they get used heaps per a day making the quality of the services worse and worse each day. Busses and trains get boarded 360,000 times per day, this is decreasing the condition of these busses and trains making them atrocious to use. In 2006 WA experienced a huge boom in the population and has been growing ever since at an substantial rate, from 2006 to 2016 the population grew from 1.5 million people to 2 million people. This means that now day since those people have grown up public transport has been used even more than before making it more crowded and also the quality of busses and trains have gone down heaps.
I am asking you to increase the amount of public transport services we have in WA or at least an upgrade to these current trains and busses we have and use today. I am sure I am not the only one bothered with the current situation of these services.
Yours sincerely,
Conor Stevens
