Drama reflection

Traditional Macbeth was about a sad tragedy but the version but we decided to do a comedy. We decided to do this because it gets the audience more engaged in the performance. The way we did this was through characters that would perform comedic acts such as some of the songs we sung. Some characters that would make it more funny and lighter were the buffoons’, which helped described what was going on and also helped make it more comedic. We also got the audience involved through the way the stage was formed, we used a round stage in a black room. This would allow the actors to break the 4th wall and interact with the audience. We made choices to change the scene to add dramatic meaning and more comedy aspects which would also help tell the story. We made our performance realistic, we made our choices become real and people could see that it was real. We had to overcome a few challenges when understanding the performance, we had to adjust/ understand the language of traditional Macbeth. Another way we got the audience more evolved was that the actors sat in the audience with the spectators. We also used a bunch of symbolic props such as the red fabric which was symbol for blood and death.
