Task 1 – My House of Values

These are my main 12 values. They all add up to %100

The three main values I want to talk about are:

Value 1

Determination is my main value because when I do something I put my all to it and do it all as best as I can. Also when I want to do something I will do it no matter what it takes.

Value 2

Honesty is another important value because I like to be as honest as I can with everyone so people can trust me more.

Value 3

Family is another important value to me because I love my family and they matter most to me in life and I put them first in everything

Task 2 – Role models

I have chosen 2 role models one is good (The Rock) and the other is bad (Donald Trump). We had to answer some questions in the onenote.

My good role model The Rock

What behaviours does this person demonstrate to show that they are healthy?

The Rock is inspirational because he encourages and supports people through depression, he is strong about anti-racism and he shows that it doesn’t matter who you are to become a success.

What do they look like? Are they healthy? How do you know?

The rock is definitely healthy because he encourages and supports people through depression, he is strong about anti-racism and he shows that it doesn’t matter who you are to become a success.

What message does this person promote? Why is it inspiring and healthy?

The rock promotes anti-racism which is inspiring because he is Samoan which is a culture that has a lot of racism towards them, he also shows that coming form a culture where not many people know about it shows that it doesn’t matter who you are you can become successful.

Why should young people look up to this person as a role model?

People should look up to the Rock because he helps people stay fit and healthy, he also supports and helps people who admire him and people who need help.

Thinking back to your House of Values activity, what values does this person demonstrate?

The Rock demonstrates success showing people that if you want to do something you can do it no matter the challenges that show up. The Rock also shows his worth ethic because when he works he puts his all into it, he also does in a nice way. Another value The Rock demonstrates is determination, he shows it when he works out, when he is filming or when he is wrestling in the WWE.

My bad role model Donald Trump

What behaviours does this person demonstrate to show that they are unhealthy?

In February 2017, Donald Trump decided to go after one of the biggest groups possible by removing protections for trans students which allowed them to use bathrooms corroborating with their gender identity. Donald trump is also racist as the Black Lives Matter protests escalated across the United States following the death of George Floyd at the hands of police officers, Trump decided to show no compassion or words of solace or peace. Instead, he order the military to hit protesters outside of the White House with tear gas just so he could walk a few metres across the street.

What do they look like? Do they look unhealthy? How do you know?

Donald Trump looks unhealthy because he has this horrible orange fake tan which makes him look like a carrot.

What message does this celebrity promote? Why is it unhealthy?

Donald trump promotes anti-vaccine with covid, he also says that the school shootings in America are because of students with mental illnesses which is not true.

Do you think young people should look up to this person as a role model? Why or why not?

Young people should definitely not look up to Donald trump because he is racist, homophobic and he does much more bad things.

Is everything you hear, read or see in the media true? Discuss.

I don’t think it’s exactly true, I think that the media exaggerates everything people do, while some of it may be true they make it seem much worse than it actually is.
