My Values and My Role Models

Values are a very important thing. This is because values can show people who you are and what kind of person you are. Values are just kindness or respect there also things like adventure and fun. My 10 main values include Self-respect, Forgiveness, Honesty, Humour, Respect, Sportsmanship, Adventure, Health, Kindness and Fun. However if I was to have to narrow this down to my top three Values They would be Honesty, Self-Respect and Respect. And you might be thinking why these values mean so much to me and what do these actually mean.

Honesty

Honesty, this is in my opinion one of the most core value a person can have. This is because of many reasons starting with how it affects our social life and interaction with our friends, family or just anyone we talk to. Honesty can make a very large first impression to someone as when your meeting someone imagine the first thing they said to you was a lie, you would then think there are not a very good person. This can also affect how we live our life by if you were to keep hiding things or lying to other’s or just yourself about things then your relationships with people wouldn’t be build on you or who you really are and if people were to find out then that can cause major upsets to you and those around you.

Respect

Respect, this is a very important value to have towards other whether they are younger, older or the same age as you. this would display who you are as a person who doesn’t show respect is usually someone who is a bad role model and isn’t a very good person however showing respect can make you a better person and this can also be brought in with kindness as they are very similar. Respect is showing someone kindness and showing that they are important with helping them with things or just listening to them without talking over them. Respect comes in many ways and can completely change someone view on others.

Self-Respect

Self-Respect is a very important value to have. Self-Respect can mean a lot of things including respecting your mind with having pride and bravery in yourself to do something but also respecting your body with good health and not be to dangerous. Not be dangerous can sound like not much fun with is also a good value but this could mean just being a bit more cautious and take more care of your body.

Good Role Models

A good role model is a person worthy of respect. A person who has healthy beliefs and attitudes and who can be trusted to demonstrate healthy and respectful behaviours. Everyone has different role models and different people they look up to. Role Models , like your values can represent you and what kind of person you are, This can be found by the values of your role model. The role model I have chose is Mr beast or Jimmy Donaldson, he is a very popular youtuber and content creator. He makes a lot of money through a variety things however never lets fame take him over. He gives away majority of his money to people, charity’s and helping the community.

What behaviours does this person demonstrate to show that they are healthy?

Mr beast demonstrates a very high level of kindness by the fact that majority of the money he makes he gives back to people who are struggling or just gives away stuff. He is very kind to people around him and likes to be kind by giving away all kinds of things.

What do they look like? Are they healthy? How do you know?

Mr beast looks very healthy in many ways with his physique with not being overweight and also his mind. He is also healthy with what he promotes never showing any that is unhealthy or inappropriate.

What message does this person promote? Why is it inspiring and healthy?

Mr beast promotes the message saying that others might not have it as good as us and to give back to those who need it. This is portrayed by many things with him owning a charity and food drive and giving away lots of money and other things. This is inspiring because he he always gets others to help and shows ways to help your community and the world with inspiring things.

Why should young people look up to this person as a role model?

I think that young people should look up to Mr beast as a role model because he is very generous and think of others before himself. He is a very kind and generous person and demonstrates many great values in a person.

Thinking back to your House of Values activity, what values does this person demonstrate?

Mr beast demonstrates respect and kindness with his main ideas however also shown fun and adventure with some of the things he does.

Bad Role Models

A bad role model is someone who behaves in a badly or negatively towards something or someone. This is a person that should not be imitated. This person will promote a bad message and should not be looked up to by younger people however not always is the person actually at fault for an action. This can be portrayed by media with editing or false statements. The bad role model I have chose is Johnny Depp because he has been caught with a drug addiction in the past and has broken the law on a few accounts.

What do they look like? Do they look unhealthy? How do you know?

When Johnny Depp is in public he does not look very unhealthy and looks quite normal were as there have been photos of him that show otherwise. Some of these photos include pictures of him with drugs or on a lot of alcohol. This shows that he is not a very good role model when he is not in public or when he is on something because this can but you in a state of mind that isn’t yourself which brings in self-respect as he is not respecting his own body.

What message does this celebrity promote? Why is it unhealthy?

Johnny Depp promotes a bad message showing the damages substance abuse and alcoholism can with little punishment. This could show others that it isn’t that bad when in reality it is very damaging to self and you can get caught and penalties very harshly.

Do you think young people should look up to this person as a role model? Why or why not?

I believe when in some of his main movies he is a very good character and a cool role model to look up to however outside of that he is actually a very bad person. This makes me believe that younger people should not look up to him because of many reasons.
