My adventures in Leo Club has been an enlighting experience that I wouldn’t trade for the world.
Over the past two years, I have been involved in a task force that helps All saints college with recycling and making the school environmentally friendly. Over the last two years, I have risen through the ranks to be Vice President because of my hard work and attributes towards the club. I have Organised multiple events throughout the club that have gone on to process thought the international club and has helped people in general.
The lessons I have learnt throughout this experience is that with the appropriate mindest set and creativity I can get most things done.
I have been a member of LEO club international for approximately 3 years and it has helped me grow as a person. LEO club has helped me gain many life skills through various projects such as the seed drive, charity events, workshops and boardroom meetings that have taken me all around the state. But easily the most fruitful experince but the one that taught me the most was when I organised and ran a LEO conference that got LEO’s from all of WA to take 3 days to listen to guest speakers and generate ideas to help with Children’s cancer, vision impaired, food shortage and many other real world problems. We also joined in on seminars that revolve around teamwork, services and project management. This conference was a great opportunity to network and meet new people who help further my ideas and give me new ones to work with. It was an incredible opportunity to receive constructive feedback and look at various projects I’m working on through other peoples eyes. The actual lead up/planning of the event was no easy task. I worked with 5 others to create a successful state wide event. This helped me hone my leadership skills as well as time management and communication. Although it was a difficult and strenuous project it came with great personal satisfaction and great praise from the members who went; so great in fact that we have funding to do another conference next year. I couldn’t have done it without the incredible team I was working with and I am so grateful for them all.
