what is $20 boss
We had to come up with an idea to be able to produce and then the present it to people to sell the product. We first started by spending weeks to be able to identify what we are good at and then introduced to the idea of designing a product. Once we came up with a product, we presented the idea to make the CEO and those who weren’t chosen had to submit a resume, join a group with a CEO, and then help create their product to be able to sell at the market. In my group we each made $70 after donating 10% to charity.
Capabilities
I think that we were all pretty good at sewing so that made the actual creating part good after we finished deciding the materials and the others fixed their sewing machines. We were mostly good at choosing some of the fabrics but I was able to decide that some of the fabrics weren’t good and we used different fabrics for the later products.
what could have been better
It took us a long time to be able to decide on when to go and get the fabric and then get them, we started the project a bit later than what other groups did so time management was a big thing in the project and I feel we could have been more effective in that.
We also wasted time because we couldn’t get the sewing machines at school to work because of how thick the fabric was and we had planned to use those for the project but we couldn’t so we had to arrange to meet at someone’s house to do it and arrange to get some of the others sewing machines to work so I had to show them how I had changed it so the fabric wouldn’t be molting because the previous ones were horrible.
sales and the market day
om the market day I feel we did do fairly well as we sold nearly all our products and made over $200.
our products did attract plenty of customers and then they stayed and had a look and then some of them brought our products and others left but the majority did want to buy the bigger size.
On the market day we got in and set up and decorated and a while later everyone came in and started looking at our products they said how they liked the products and that they were priced fairly well and some of them said that they would have brought some if they did have a dog to use it on.
Communication
We communicated well at the end so we knew what we had to do to get the project done.
we all expressed our opinions and ideas for the products and how we could have improved them and that made a difference in how the final products turned out.
we talked to each other to be able to sort out days to go and get the materials or to meet up and start making the products which made it go by faster and when we did go to my house we made a lot of progress and then we were able to separate the materials to each other and go and do it individually later.
we also made a poster to tell the prices of the products and help engage people.
