$20 Boss

For the first semester of 2022 I had chosen to do $20 Boss, this course was a business course that made us create products and sell them to the general public, this made us think about what customers want but also make sure that the business is profitable which proved to be a difficult task. The task was done in groups of 3-5 where each person had one or a few assigned jobs, these could be things like; money management, CEO, etc. The task had a few steps that we needed to complete before the selling on Friday week 6.

The planning stage

During the planning stage for this project, we had to think about what product we were going to do in our groups, but also think about our logo design, and where we were going to get all of the stuff for making our products. Our group had decided on making hand sanitiser bottles that appealed more to children or young kids, we achieved this by putting bright and vibrant lego bricks into the bottles.

Then we went on to make our logo design.

Making the products

After we had grabbed all of our stuff together, we started to make our products. We started by filling all of the bottles with sanitiser (we made around 40 bottles). Then we stuffed all of the lego into the bottle. Then we put all of the logos on the bottles. We had all of our products ready.

The market

On the day of the market, we came early in the morning to set up our stalls. This meant bringing all of our float money, decorations and our products to sell. After we set up our stalls, people started to roll in. To tempt them to buy our product we tried to make eye contact, smile and greet them, this worked about %60 of the time, and we told each customer about what our product is and how it might make children more enticed to use hand sanitiser to keep safe and healthy during COVID-19. This made some parents buy our wears but some were driven away by our price of $5, so we decided to lower the price to $3, this made a few more sales role in. At the end of the market, we had made around $60.
