During this assessment, we had to make groups and conduct research to create a presentation to present to the class.
What I learnt from this assessment
I learnt about Alcohol laws and regulations around the world, but specifically in Australia. For example, you are not allowed to sell packaged alcohol without having the number of standard drinks on the label, and you cannot drink alcohol in public otherwise it can be confiscated from you and you need a license to sell alcohol. I also learnt that binge drinking has long and short-term effects that affect your body and mind. For example, it can make some of your organs fail like your liver, brain, bowel, etc. Some short-term effects are: altered speech, difficulty thinking and difficulty doing basic actions. I also learnt about reasons people binge drink, this can be caused by: peer pressure, you are mooring someone that died and you want to fit in with other people that are drinking.
One Piece of Advice for a Teenage person
Don’t drink underage. I would pass this on because, it can be detrimental to your mental health, and your self-esteem and damage you later on in life as it can lead to many disorders and might even impact your relationships whether it is with family, friends or just on the street social interactions. It can also make you more prone to hurting yourself and forces you to make much more dangerous decisions.
A Pledge for my 18-Year-old self
When I reach the legal drinking age of the country that I currently live in, I promise to make sure that I follow the alcohol laws and regulations of that country. I will do this so that I can stay safe and secure while tempering with alcohol. I will ensure this by having an elaborate and well thought out plan if I ever get too drunk or ill from excessive alcohol consumption.
