In year 8, I was faced with multiple difficulties that made English harder for me to comprehend and made me adapt to those difficulties. This page will talk about some of the projects and assessments during my year 8 English course. I will also talk about the abilities that I had to use to get through the year and how I used them.

Analysis of Current Affair Segment

The first assessment of the year was to view a current affair segment and identify how the producers used specific techniques to make the viewer feel a certain way, this was usually done using different camera shots and using certain language between characters to give the viewer a specific emotion.

Production of a Current Affair Segment

In the third assessment of the English year, we created groups and had to plan out and construct a current affair segment, we had to create a script for the segment, then we had to record and act then put it all together using editing. I used different teamwork and collaboration skills and an understanding of current affairs segments to create a working segment with my group. These communication skills included talking and connecting skills to work with my team effectively to get a good mark for this assessment.
