Christmas market

prototypes:

at the start we made prototypes, we made this with poles from the verge collection, cut them into thin slices and then put varnish on them. the varnish was grey. we put different coloured varnishes to the test and see what is better. we got approved and got our 30-dollar loan… we realised we used treated wood and we can’t use that as it wasn’t good for the tables. and the people consuming food next to the coasters

Making the products:
when we made the products we used a laser cutter to cut out 32 circles and they came out mostly well. but some were messed up. we took them home and I varnished them, soon later when I flipped them over I noticed there was a black ring around them this was where it was burned by the laser this was good though as it looked really cool. the cost of making these was $3.40 for all 32 which was barely a dent in our budget so that set us up for success. in the end, we did well with making it all including the packaging which was made of brown string.

Market day:

in the morning we did our normal lessons until p4, when it wasp4 we had to set up our stalls our spot was right next to the canteen and changing rooms. this was the best spot as people about to change could buy it and people who are buying things from the canteen can also buy stuff.

what would I change if I did it again:

If we got the opportunity to do the market again there would be many things I would change. First, I would make a product that people will use in their everyday life, my target audience would be the junior school, So I would make a toy because that’s what they would probably prefer. I would advertise the product a lot more to make the demand high so when it comes to the market day, I would have people wanting to buy it so I could charge higher prices and could get more money and experience about the business world (this is what people did in skeleton island). I would place my stall in the same spot as it was right next to the place where most people eat so they would have a good look at our products, and we could make them buy our product. Another thing I would include would be sustainable recourses and recyclable materials to attract more people that don’t want to hurt the environment. I would try to make My product as sustainable as possible because that will make me able to persuade people more and make my product look good. I would design my stall way better and make sure that it stands out so I can make more consumers come to my stall instead of going to my competitor’s stall. My packaging will be the most important as my product can’t be flimsy and ugly it must be strong, firm and attractive to the consumers. Finally, with the cost of production, I would try to keep the prices of production as low as possible so I can put the rest of the thirty-dollar budget towards either my profit or stall design. In the end, there would be lots of things I would change to maximise my experience and my business world skills.

conclusion:

I loved this market as it gave me different opportunities to learn about the competition in the business world and experience in the business world.
