This project was about groups creating a surreal piece that was based in a school that had the main character and using camera angles to create meaning.

Planning Process: The way I would pitch this film is, A boy falls asleep in class and in his dream, he is in his school and every corner he turns he sees s other boys and he runs all over the school and again he sees the 3 boys. The way we came up with this surreal film was Matthew thought that the school was jail and the 3 boys were inmates. We didn’t have inspiration from anything we just thought of it. We created a storyboard first to put our ideas on paper. Then we created a script, we did this in celtx. After we wrote the script we started filming, this took the most time because we had to get the camera angle right.

These are some photos of our film, storyboard and script.

Production Process:

The technology we used to make this film was a basic camera. The way we used the camera was pretty normal we just set it in a position and the person that wasn’t in frame pressed record. What went well was most of the recording’s we shot, we got most of our shots first try. What didn’t go so well was trying to get our group to focus, one example is we specifically told Jayden to not try and break our ankles and he did. The way we could have improved our camera use was by making smooth transitions. What I learnt during the filming process was how and when to start the film so we could edit it nicely. What we would do differently would be to make sure the camera isn’t tilted.

Post Production Process:

The way we edited our project was we used premier pro. The functions that we implemented was using text, layering audio and more. What went well through the process was finding good audio. The thing that we needed to do differently is making the transitions more smooth to give a nicer touch.

The Final Overview

The best parts of our film personally was the bloopers because they were really funny. I think the thing we will do differently is having more fun with it.
