The Year 7 Christmas Market took place on the 20th of November. Our Year 7 Cohort raised roughly (), which was a major shock to all. The Christmas Market went over the course of 6 weeks, and a lot of learning and behind the scenes work. It was overall an extremely successful project and a fun experience to be a part of.

Our Products
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
Our product was Laser Cut key-chains. This service was provided by the HANGAR. The overall making of our key chains were difficult, and there were many different obstacles we had to get past. One of these was the issues with the cutting, as there were many problems which had occurred. Overall, we produced our items to be sold and our business was a huge success.

Design Thinking Process
The design thinking process was one of the most important factors of our Christmas Market development. It all began with the stage empathize, in which we had to think about others, and their preferences and needs for Christmas. We used this to decide different products which could be sold in our market. Then came define, where we re-empathized our target audience, and grew a better understanding of the market ahead of us. We then had ideate, in which we were to come up with more than twenty ideas of products to sell for the market. We had to cater our audience with these products, and decide on a final product. We then had prototype, where we were creating our products. Finally was test, where we received feedback to hopefully make our business more successful.
The Day of the Market
The beginning of the day of the market was extremely busy. All groups had to set up during the class InnovatED. This process overall took over the course of a period. We set up in the common, and our Christmas Market as a cohort was looking ready for business, and to make a profit (all money made to go to charity). Our stall had many features to draw in attention, and we hoped that we could create a successful business.
It then came to lunch, where our Christmas Market would begin. Our group’s key chains had sold out in the first 5 minutes of the market. This was heavily unexpected, and we could have changed this. After realising this, we knew that we could’ve created more key chains and made more of a profit and have a more successful business at the end of the day.
What I would do differently
If I were to do this Christmas Market differently, I would create more supply, due to our high demand for our product. During InnovatED classes, I think we would judge our own products more, as if we did, we could have created a better business.
Overall, the Christmas Market was one of my favourite projects for a long time, and it was enjoyed by many. It assisted us with our learning of becoming a business, different skills such as collaboration, and it helps us with our understanding of economics.
