Throughout the year 2023, My classmates and I took part in a few assessments and projects that would test our skills, this would be a mixture of Essays, Short stories, and narratives. The highest grade I got this year was 66% which was the teenager oral presentation. Even though this was the highest mark I had this year in English I would say that the thing I improved in the most this year is short stories. I felt that for my short story, I had an enjoyable time thinking about the story and what should happen next. Which I feel is an improvement from last year when I didn’t know what to write.
The process I took that led me to this achievement is that I would think about things I could improve on when I would finish a paragraph. I would also look at my grammar and writing in general and just think about other words that mean the same thing and just look more complicated. I also did go to a couple of English help mornings, but I felt this did not help a whole too much it did give me a bit of a push for what I should be writing.
I felt good about my achievement because it was a massive improvement from last year’s short story and how much I have changed my writing style and grammar. Also, how much I had changed my skills with storytelling or explaining things.
Now that the year is ending, I need to remember these techniques I have used for this year and remember to improve/ reuse them for the next year, to just get higher scores next year. I also need to improve on my essays because those are the things I struggled with the most. I also need to plan for future assessments ahead of next year and make sure I know what I need to do and read the marking rubric.
