Project Utopia 2021

Introduction:

 Project Utopia is something the year 7s have been working on a project called Project Utopia. The year 7s have been thinking of sustainable and livable ways to put on the Fremantle port we had to think of things that can help the environment. Like futuristic buildings, Transport, bridges. We had to tie in many learning areas like English, Hass and Innovated. In the final week of term 3, we had a showcase where all the parents and guests we have had in the past came to see everyone’s ideas and vision boards.

On the day I was very sure that our group was ready and very organized we were ready to answer any questions they had and had our entire script memorized. When the first person came, I spoke clearly and told all the details that I needed to say. I remembered all my speeches which were also good. After a while, my voice started getting tired and I did not talk as much. But overall, I think I did well. Most of this stuff was the same with the entire group some people didn’t talk as much

Liveability

We had questions like where you are going to put the bridges and how are they going to be sustainable. We had some ideas if we could also make the windows on the trams made from the stained recycled glass also so then we don’t just use a small number of bottles being used and then the rest of them are thrown away.

Liveability describes the frame conditions of a decent life for all inhabitants of cities, regions and communities including their physical and mental wellbeing.

Sustainability

In our project we have been doing lots of great ideas which are very sustainable one of them is the are bridge ideas of how we will be using stained recycled glass from local pubs another one is using the fishnets for our tram’s carpets. Our next one is health and wellbeing because it is essential for the quality of life.

UN Global Goals

For our global goals, we have chosen climate action because it reduces greenhouse gas emissions and many other bad things. Our next one is to protect, restore, and promote the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems. Our final one is sustainable cities and communities because of improving economic growth.

Public speaking skills

My public speaking skills were alright most of the time because I spoke clearly in some parts I didn’t talk too much but then I was fine later.

Conclusion

Overall I think my group and I did very good we did have our ups and downs but in the end, everything went really well.
