Year 9 OLP

Brief Overview

The Year 9 Kalbarri OLP camp was probably my favorite camp I’ve been on and went on for 5 days and 4 nights, and we all got separated into 4 different groups, in 2 rotations. We participated in multiple fun activities, such as swimming in the gorge, abseiling, hiking, cooking our own meals, and more. I believe the OLP was a great example of demonstrating my leadership and teamwork skills, as well as organization and resilience, which are some necessary and very important skills.

Teamwork + Leadership

Majority of our camp was based around teamwork, and my favorite activity that included teamwork was definitely the cooking portion in our mini groups of 3/4. My group consisted of Ishaan and James, and we all worked together to prepare our food quickly, but also making it taste good. We all had different jobs, with one person cutting up all the veggies, one person being the ‘main cook’, who essentially just takes the lead in the whole cooking, and the other person helping everyone out. We all rotated jobs within our group, so everyone got a chance to do all the jobs, which also showcases our leadership skills when we became the main cook.
